John Dewey, the noted American philosopher and psychologist, famously said, " Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself." Certainly in the optical world, as any other medical-allied profession, ECPs must continually educate themselves, whether it's in the newest products and technologies, medical/surgical procedures, or, even, marketing and merchandising techniques to make your business run smoother. This week's issue of Vision Care Venture explores a number of ways to keep learning: everything from educational materials from Transitions Optical to online CE at ECP Central to a wealth of in-person courses at Vision Expo East this Spring. If you don't avail yourself of them, you'll only have yourself to blame when your business suffers both technologically and financially. But in this case, you can't make it up in summer school.
